Service Description

Go Somewhere: For every little explorer who has ever wondered where the veggies on their plate come from, this week-long adventure will let them live the experience – from seed, to plant, to plate. Explorers will visit a local farm and get their hands dirty as they pull weeds in a raised garden bed, water plants in a specialized greenhouse, harvest lettuce grow from a hydroponics system, and see how fresh produce is shipped to be delivered to a local restaurant. Meet Someone: Explorers will meet experts on both ends of the plant process, as they learn both from the farmers who grow fresh, organic food and the chefs who specialize in cooking with local, seasonal ingredients. Make Something: Little learners will become little growers and little chefs, with this week-long adventure culminating in a communal meal harvested and prepared by the explorers themselves (along with some expert help, of course). Pick-up/Drop-off: Gilbert’s Corner – Parking lot next to the roundabout at the intersections of Route 15 and Route 50
